International outbound sms needs Level 2 Verification?

I'm trying to switch from Twillio to Telnyx.

Following the SMS uick start guide, I have purchased a US long code number, setup my messaging profile and connected it.

Trying to send an SMS to numbers in Singapore, Malaysia and India, I get the following error:

"code": "20017",

          "title": "Account not level 2 verified",

          "detail": "Level 2 account verification is required to perform this action. Check the 'verifications' tab under 'account' on the portal for more information."

However the documentation only says that level 2 verification is needed for Voice Capabilities and using an Alphaneumeric Sender ID to send International SMS.

I'm trying to send SMS using the v2 Send a Message API using my long form phone number as the "from" value.

So does sending SMS require level 2 verification or not? If so it should be clearly indicated in the documents. Its very confusing. Unless telnyx is primarily designed for US phone numbers to send TO US phone numbers. If Telnyx is not international friendly, then the website and documentation should be clear about that too.

Hey! First thing to check is if you are Level 2 Verified which enables messaging outside of the US. Please follow this guide - https://community.telnyx.com/articles/501/level-2-verification.html.
